If a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request is denied in Illinois, the requester can appeal to the Illinois Attorney General's Public Access Bureau ---- do this after take black marker to everything redact everything you said

 To appeal a FOIA denial in Illinois, you have 60 days from the denial to request a review by the Illinois Attorney General's Public Access Counselor. You can also pursue legal action for injunctive or declaratory relief in the Circuit Court for Sangamon County or in the county where you reside, following the procedures outlined in Section 11 of FOIA​ (Department of Human Rights (Illinois))​.
